I was pushing my shutter speed to 16 minutes this Montana afternoon while being eaten alive by the biggest mosquitoes I’ve ever seen. Originally for me, this image was about the contrast between the blurred rocks underwater and the crisp roughness of the granite stones above water. Then my sister, Charlene, pointed out to me the contrast between the smooth water and detailed forest engulfing it. Now I like it even more.
