Somewhere west of the Hunter Liggett Military Reservation, late in the afternoon the storm clouds parted over this grove of lichen-covered oaks. The zigzagging trail leading into it is more inviting than the barbed wire fence I had to lean over to get the shot. I could spend a week shooting in this area alone, if only I was permitted on the other side of the fence. Maybe the title should have been Forbidden Grove.
