Limekiln Micro Falls  •  Limekiln State Park, Big Sur, California   •  October 2003

Just a few inches high and a few feet back, this looked like a whole raging river scene—miniaturized. I love the flow of rushing whitewater over each individual pebble, as it gathers velocity and then explodes on the still pond below. Nearly invisible splatters sparkle and streak across the pond under a single ray of sunlight piercing the redwoods above. This mile-long strip of canyon forest along Limekiln Creek truly is the Enchanted Forest.
