A Celebration of Music Through Light

Black & White Photography Portfolio of Abstract Portraits of Musicians by Steve Zmak

EXHIBIT: Marjorie Evans Gallery at The Sunset Cultural Center, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA, January 8 to February 28, 2027.

For the past 20 years, I’ve recorded stars streaking across the sky, headlights winding through the dark, and sci fi fantasy scenes of sentient light. Now I’m combining my passion for photographing light trails with my love of music in a new and original way.

I attach small LED lights to musicians’ fingers and instruments to record their playing through streaks of light.

Please join me and the musicians for an opening reception on January 8, 2027, 5-7pm (with light refreshments). As an added bonus, several of the musicians will perform in front of their portraits. The reception and gallery, San Carlos St. at Ninth Ave., are free and open to the public.

Marjorie Evans Gallery Hours: Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and during all public performances and events.
